Pretty young things.

I have started do shoot more commissioned shoots recently- for more than one reason. Although this is sometimes hard being the christmas season- i've managed to squeeze in this photo shoot with a friends' sister, Imogen. She's such a young girl and I wanted some simple portraits to show that off.

I've been really excited for the next couple of weeks- been receiving secret packages in the mail for some upcoming photo shoots- I can't wait to put these resources to use! Everyone have a merry christmas. X

Natural

I have recently been communicating a lot with Ana Zarac, who's doing a couple of photo shoots with a friend of mine, Laurence Davis. Ana's look is completely natural and we arranged to work on some photos together- we seemed to be very much on the same wavelength, and love each others' work. Ana has such a striking look, and I think we can both agree we'd love to work more together in the future.

If you'd like to contact Ana about taking some photographs, you can always get a hold of her via facebok:  here.

More social snaps

A few happy snaps from the weekend as we bid Ella farewell and wish her luck on her job search. I know these photos look extremely digital, but at the same time they're fun and I like playing with the colours. It was good to once again catch up with old and new friends. One thing i'm a bit confused on- the watermarking on these photos are terrible. Still trying to figure out why some of them are out of place... luckily for these photos it doesn't really matter.

Ella and Paige

Yesterday afternoon I photographed Paige Silvi and Ella Formby in a dead field that I've been wanting to shoot at for so long, right near my home. They and our "sun girl" were very co-operative. I had a blast taking these photos, and just as much fun experimenting with them colour wise. I also tried to steer away from vignetting, I find myself getting into the habit of vignetting everything even when it looks better without.

Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies

So as much as I've been in a glum mood lately, it's not going to stop me doing what I apparently do best. Much thanks to Ella for letting me photograph her this afternoon, and Dave for probably being bored the whole time holding my equipment. As much as I'd love to start doing more fashion forward photographs, I like these photos. Ella's eyes look like fire in the last photograph...

It's photos like these I wish I'd gotten a professional make-up artist to collaborate. In saying that- i'm always willing to collab with other artists.

Styling/hair/makeup: Ella and myself.
All clothes owned by the model except the coin necklace- my own.

Bad wolf

Last night a friend of mine was having a little gathering for his 21st and asked me to take some shots. I don't usually take decent social shots (usually I settle with using my pop-up flash) but since I'm hoping to do the odd club or pub job in the future I thought I should do it right. Here are some of my favourite shots from the night...

Editing social photos

So recently I've been meaning to take more social snaps so I can hopefully develop my own style in that area of photography and make a little moola out of it. I picked out some old photos that I've taken at parties throughout the year (some on my old camera, too) and been playing around with some. Although it comes down to taste, I'd love some comments back on these couple of ones I was playing around with..

Brains for breakfast

So this past year or two I've really been getting into the Halloween spirit; I've bought so many decorations that I can't even remember what I've bought anymore. This year however, I'm hosting my own small private halloween party, and what better way to utilise some of these decorations than to take a few shots...

These photos were never intended to be technically perfect, and they aren't. But it got us into the spirit..

And then a few boring ones of myself the day before...

Old favourites

I've been learning (very slowly) since I was fourteen to take photos. The biggest setback was that I never put aside the money to purchase the equipment I really needed to progress further at an early stage. When I was certain photographers grow so much in one year, and upgrade their equipment so much it reminds myself how long it has taken me to get to where I am. Sad, but anyway, I thought I'd share some old photographs with you from over the years that I've recently dug out. I love reflecting back on these, because I can see how I've changed over the years through my photographs.

You can see my fair share of playing with watermarks on a few of these images. None of them ever stuck..
