Brains for breakfast

So this past year or two I've really been getting into the Halloween spirit; I've bought so many decorations that I can't even remember what I've bought anymore. This year however, I'm hosting my own small private halloween party, and what better way to utilise some of these decorations than to take a few shots...

These photos were never intended to be technically perfect, and they aren't. But it got us into the spirit..

And then a few boring ones of myself the day before...

Old favourites

I've been learning (very slowly) since I was fourteen to take photos. The biggest setback was that I never put aside the money to purchase the equipment I really needed to progress further at an early stage. When I was certain photographers grow so much in one year, and upgrade their equipment so much it reminds myself how long it has taken me to get to where I am. Sad, but anyway, I thought I'd share some old photographs with you from over the years that I've recently dug out. I love reflecting back on these, because I can see how I've changed over the years through my photographs.

You can see my fair share of playing with watermarks on a few of these images. None of them ever stuck..

Daisy

Yesterday I ventured out to my parents vacant block to photograph a lovely girl named Daisy. As early as I made it, yesterdays heat wasn't the most enjoyable thing in the world- especially when you're out in an open field. So props to Daisy for still making it out for me. I tried to finish the shoot as quickly as possible without rushing, but I still came out with some lovely shots...

I tried some light leaks on some of them and it came out quite nice... it's surprisingly easy to achieve that effect!

Ronin Tattooing- Promotional portraits

As much as I try to be precise about what I and the client expect from a photoshoot, sometimes things will surprise you. Yesterday I took a couple more promotional snaps for Ronin Tattooing in Cottesloe, these ones of the lovely Tahlee. The whole shoot we were drooling over the smells of the african and chinese restaurants nearby. I've photographed her three times now, and she's easily the most comfortable person I've ever photographed. There were quite a number of photos I liked from the shoot, but I was really enjoying these ones here with the warm tones. Max, my assistant, couldn't help but compliment Tahlee on her beautiful bright eyes.

Blue and Gold

Today I ventured into the city to take photos of the lovely Rhiahna. As soon as I saw her I thought her dress was to die for, so lovely. My first shoot also using my new 50mm 1.8, so still practising with that lens...

I'd take her photo again anyday, so lovely.
